Nice DVD rental shop for Midsomer Norton. I much prefer these indy places than big chains like Blockbusters. Very rude owner!!! We were in a hospital waiting room and tried to order my mother in law some flowers. My husband gave all our details and the lady on the other end was pleasant enough, but kept going over some of the same details. My husband explained it was hard to talk, so "could we speed this up" and everything was done. Then we got an awful voicemail from the owner saying "she was fed up with taking crap from people bla bla" so we called back to explain. It can be a bit of a guessing game ordering such intimates online, size being the biggest barrier. However it can all be sent back if it doesnâ¬"t fit properly as long as itâ¬"s within 14 days. By far the coolest shop on the high st, BA3 supplies everything needed for those in the skateboarding world, as well as giving the town a taste of urban and underground clothing to match, unrivaled in the area. The staff are always friendly and very helpful, and knowledgable in their field of work, ensuring maximum customer confidence. The shop has been an avid campaigner for the much needed skatepark in the area, and has worked closesly with the "Manic Skaterz", now that the park is nearing its completion, big things are to be expected from the BA3 crew, and it is good to know that the shop is more than equipped and ready to deal with the wave of new skaters to the area. At Docky's you definately get value for money.....I can hardly fit my fat gob round some of the tasty sarnies and would defo recommend this little treasure as Nortons best lunch time takeaway. With a High Street shop window, I'm forever looking in Dorothy House for bargains. So far I have managed to buy two full length mirrors for a total of Â£10 where as I saw just one mirror going for Â£15 in another charity shop in Glastonbury. They are also willing to negotiate unlike the Children's Society shop next to Sainsburys which insists it is company policy not to sell anything under 99p!With a High Street shop window, I'm forever looking in Dorothy House for bargains. I've bought several items from Woodpecker Pine. If you're like me and want an item right away, there will be a wait as most of the furniture is made to order, so you can choose the finishing and size you want. However, it's not too long a wait, and the items I have bought have been sturdy, and appealing on the eye. The staff are also good at advising you on what types of finish is best for your needs, however, they are a bit standoffish at first, so don't be afraid to ask. There's a massive showroom and a special discount bay which sells slight seconds. I bought a dresser which was a second and you would hardly notice. So it's worth a browse. I rarely go into Midsomer Savouries as it's always so busy. It sells a wide range of pasties, cakes and breads. When I do buy a Midsomer Savouries product it's usually from the Co-op in Radstock as there is no queuing and it's always delicious. i usually shop Argos as it usually offers cheaper prices on home goods however the past few times I have visited the Midsomer Norton shop there has not been an item in stock. Sometimes I am offered the choice of ordering it in, which when the item comes I am conveniently texted to let me know, but other times I've been told that the item can be picked up in Bath or Shepton Mallet and there has been no attempt to bring it to the shop closest to me. We don't know how lucky we are to have this decent newsagent right in the middle of Midsomer Norton High Street. So many other towns have lost theirs to the supermarkets. Martins has a great selection of magazines - anything you could possibly want. Staff are pretty helpful too. The Green Shop is a lovely place in Midsomer Norton. Though it's not easy to find. It's at the back of Holly Court and there's lots of weird and wonderful food and stuff to choose from. Sainsburys is an ideal location for the weekly shop, however parking can sometimes be troublesome. But that said, the staff always seem really happy and helpful and the freshly baked bread is a bonus. The staff are very helpful at Lloyds and they offer a number of screening programmes which is useful. Though I haven't taken them up on it yet. I do find there's not a great range of cosmetics on offer or "girlie things". It would be great if they carried a wider range of make-up products.
